Solastalgiafest took place in partnership with Handewa Farms on Occaneechi Saponi land, alongside local artists and wellness practitioners. Together they offered free workshops centered on healing eco grief and learning Black and Indigenous methods of caring for and cultivating land. Participants engaged in hands-on learning about food growing, land stewardship, herbal practices, and creative expression. Assata Goff created art installations that offered spaces for comfort, reflection, and grounding. These installations served as places where people could sit, breathe, journal, and process their feelings about climate change and political uncertainty. This project brought together art, land, and community care. It was designed as a joyful and restorative gathering that reminded folks of their ancestral relationships to land and each other.
